GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) waterproofing system

A GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) waterproofing system—commonly known as fiberglass—is a high-performance, seamless, and durable liquid-applied membrane used to create a completely watertight barrier. It is widely used for flat roofs, balconies, gutters, and underground or overhead water tanks.

Glass(fibre) Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is a composite material that consists of a polymer matrix and glass fibres. The polymer matrix is usually an epoxy, vinylester, or polyester thermosetting resin.

Fibreglass sheets are a common type of fibre-reinforced plastic using glass fibre. The fibres may be randomly arranged, flattened into a sheet, or woven into a fabric before being used with a resin/epoxy which hardens. Which results in a strong lightweight product.

It’s for this reason GRP is widely used and most commonly used in the marine industry as well as the roofing industry.
